Proving God’s Will Pt-6 ~ Message 103

This message is how to prove that our efforts in serving God qualify as his good, acceptable or the perfect will as described in Romans 12:1-2.

  Messages on this passage are abundant.  Anywhere from God’s mercy over to protecting and taking care of our bodies or from reasonable sacrifices, on to Holy living and also what our reasonable service is, over to being nonconformists so we can be transformed, but I have never heard a message on how all this leads up to the actual proof that Paul wrote to the Romans about.  That we can know for certain that are efforts are exactly what God is looking for instead of being like Cain when he did his best but it wasn’t what God wanted.  God never warned Cain while growing the fruits and vegetables that those were the wrong kind of sacrifice.

   We have confidence we are doing God’s will because it seems so right to us.  Just like Cain did as he confidently presented his sacrifice.  This is why we are given an opportunity to prove it, so we won’t be ashamed.

   The first problem we face is in understanding the way that seemeth right unto man, so we won’t be fooled by our conscience. (Prov. 14:12)  The second one is how to actually prove beyond any doubt that we are in God’s will.  Martha thought she was serving the Master and confidently requested help from Jesus to instruct her sister to help her but was criticized and learned that she had chosen poorly.

  God is an expert on giving commandments without controlling his creation and this is a perfect example.  He knows that we all have a measure of pride that gives us confidence about making our choices, so he has given us a way to know for sure that comes directly from him.  “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” Psalms 118:8.

  Those who wait to find out will continue fully confident that they are right until they reach the end of the road and finally realize they were going the wrong direction.
