Our Timeless Creator

He is Still Coming Back Pt-5 ~ Message 40

Our Timeless Creator Season 1 Episode 40

This message considers why Jesus told us all to watch and the difference that it makes.

From the time that Jesus told Peter, James, John and Andrew privately on the Mount of Olives to be watching for His return literally billions of people have believed that Jesus will be coming back in their life time. So much so that after Jesus ascended up into Heaven all those standing there continued to watch as though he were coming back while they waited. (see Acts 1:11) At that point they had no understanding of how future events would unfold. For us it is much clearer now. Jesus will make a total of three trips to Earth. The First Time He came as the Savior, The Second Time He will come secretly to take all the Saints and Third Time He will come back boldly with the Saints as King of Kings to rule and reign for a thousand years.

The hard part for us is waiting because we are God's children and like children we are impatient and we want Him to come now. God anticipates this event quite differently, much like a farmer anxiously awaits harvest time.

Salient Points: Easter a floating holiday, A spring time rapture, When we think not, In a season, Why should we watch, Pray without ceasing, Watching makes a difference How interested is God in you, What does our Creator want from us, Santa Clause oddities, Developing a sense of anticipation, Bought to give away, Only praying when necessary, Only thinking of what’s in it for me, Appreciating our existence, Considering the details of creating, Just wanting more, Reckoning the flesh dead, Thinking past self, Our jealous God.
